C-130/L-382 Avionics Modernization Program

ASB Avionics is pleased to announce the Avionics Upgrade & Modernization Program for the C-130/L-382 aircraft. Our avionics upgrade program will take your aging aircraft into the 21st century by updating and replacing existing antiquated avionics systems with modern state of the art avionics.  The upgrade program includes the installation of systems such as dual Primus EPIC Control Display Systems (CDS/R), TCAS, dual SRZ-850 Primus II Radio Systems, Primus 880 Radar system, AZ-850 Air Data System, Orbit Digital Audio system, dual FMZ-2000 integrated flight management System, GH-3000 ESIS, dual ALT4000 Radio Altimeters, and Mark VII Enhanced GPWS. ASB Avionics is including many options including multiple attitude/heading reference systems, and SATCOM systems.

In addition to the installation of new systems, we are replacing existing avionics mounting provisions with modular avionics shelves. With this modular approach to avionics installations, we are able to engineer, fabricate, and test many of the systems before an aircraft is input for modification. This approach allows for a faster turn around time for the aircraft being modified.

We upgrade and reinstall many of the existing avionics systems. This allows us to properly interface the existing systems with the newly installed systems, and update existing systems to meet current industry standards.

ASB Avionics received the first L-382 for our upgrade program at our Mojave California facility in October of 2000. First flight of the updated L-382 with the EPIC display system installed took place in February of 2001. STC was issued in December 2001
